Gopal School of Value Education ( GSVE), took it’s first baby steps, in the year 2009 December. The very first class started in Muvattupuzha, with more than 40 children. In the year 2010, ISKCON members decided to hold a Summer Camp in Ernakulam during the April summer holidays. The response from parents was overwhelming. Contrary to our expectation of 60-75 children, we took in 127 children, of ages 5-15. GSVE conducts summer Camps regularly which are very popular and a much awaited event by parents and children every year.
GSVE members also conduct an annual Bhagavad Gita chanting competition and a Puranic Quiz competition, during the month of November just before Gita Jayanti. This is another very popular event. Children from many schools participate in this program.
During the COVID period, online programs were conducted for children. What began as a one month class to keep children happily occupied, turned out to be regular classes. We still have many children attending these online classes.
Physical classes have already started in Muvattupuzha and we are looking forward to opening more physical classes in and around Ernakulam.
Our aim is to involve as many children as possible, to understand and follow our Sanatana Dharma culture, and experience the bliss, of pure love of God.
Many children are already chanting the Hare Krishna Mahamantra and experiencing what bhakthi or love of God means.
