About Us

The International Society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) is known all over the world for its authoritative presentation of the Vedic literature in various languages, glorious Deity worship, association of  devotees of the Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krishna, the propagation of Harinama Sankirtana and delicious prasadam. His Divine Grace Abhay Charanaravinda Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (Also called Srila Prabhupada) is the Founder-Acharya of the institution and as rightly said, he has built a house where the whole world can live together as devotees of the Supreme Lord, irrespective of race, religion, caste, colour or creed. ISKCON in short, has been and will always be a beacon of hope for humanity and an oasis for the weary traveler (living entities) traversing this vast desert (the material world).

The KOCHI chapter of ISKCON is unique as it has an intimate and unique connection to Srila Prabhupada (video Srila Prabhupada’s Kochi connection). It has a unique memorial (video Srila Prabhupada memorial, Kochi) in commemoration of Srila Prabhupada’s setting his lotus feet on the shores of Kochi for a unique purpose. The above ‘connection’ makes the Kochi chapter of ISKCON an important one in the mission of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Kerala, with it’s reputation as God’s own country gets all the more glorious with Lord Sri Krishna’s pure devotee having graced the land with his lotus feet.

Currently the ISKCON Kochi is operating from a modest center at Edapally (near the famous  Chenganpuzha park) where the devotees congregate regularly for discussions on Bhagavad Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam, Harinama Sankirtana, Deity worship and honouring prasadam. With the blessings of the Vaishnavas, an uprising is expected in the years to come in the city of Kochi,  to systematically propagate the glories of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in every town and village. There are also several congregations that take place at various parts of the city in the houses of various devotees. Devotees also periodically give classes on the Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam at several temples in the city. Maha prasadam is always available at the center for all those who seek it.
